Paper Studio · published by AG Quillworks · Last updated: 10 August 2026

Paper Studio is a collection of pen-and-paper logic puzzles, published by AG Quillworks (“we”, “us”). We built it to work well with as little of your data as possible. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

The short version: the app works fully offline and needs no account. We collect anonymous usage analytics to improve the games, and — if you leave it on — we back up your progress so you don’t lose it. We show no ads, and we never sell your data.

1. Information we collect

WhatWhyYour control
Anonymous usage analytics. A random device identifier (not your name or email), the screens and actions you take (e.g. a puzzle solved, a setting changed), your approximate location derived from your IP address, and session recordings of your interactions with on-screen input fields masked. To understand which puzzles work, find bugs, and improve the app. Turn off “Anonymous usage data” in Settings › Privacy.
Cloud backup of your progress. Your streaks, best times, badges and settings. To enable this we silently create an anonymous account for your device — no sign-up, no password. So your progress survives a reinstall or a new device. Turn off “Cloud backup” in Settings › Your data.
Google account (optional). If you tap “Connect Google”, we receive your email address and basic profile from Google. Only to let you recover your backup on another device. Optional. Only stored if you connect it.
Feedback you send. Your message, an optional email if you provide one, and technical context (app version, device/browser type, timezone, and a snapshot of your progress such as total wins and current streak). To reproduce and fix what you report. Optional. Only sent when you submit feedback.
Shared puzzle links. If you create a link to share a puzzle, we store that puzzle and a short code so your friend can open it. To make the shared board openable. Optional. Only when you share.

On-device only: reminders/notifications are scheduled locally on your device — no data is sent to us to deliver them.

2. What we do not do

3. Service providers we use

We rely on a few trusted providers to run the app. They process data on our behalf:

ProviderPurposeWhere
PostHogAnonymous analytics & session replayUnited States
SupabaseCloud backup & feedback storageIndia (Mumbai)
GoogleOptional sign-in (only if you connect it)Google’s regions

Because these providers may process data outside your country, your information may be transferred internationally and handled under those providers’ own safeguards.

4. How long we keep it

Analytics are retained by our analytics provider for a limited period and then aggregated or deleted. Your cloud backup is kept while you use the app; it is removed when you delete it (see below) or after a long period of inactivity. Feedback is kept as long as needed to act on it.

5. Deleting your data

You are always in control:

6. Children

Paper Studio is a general-audience app and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will remove it.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, contact us at the address below.

8. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and its “Last updated” date.
